Shaping Perspective
A leader is not born, but made. Whether it’s through the help of a mentor, being thrown into certain circumstances, or a combination of both, great leaders are molded by their own actions shaped by social conditions. Certain traits and behaviors are predominant in many great leaders, overlapping one another to create a strong combination. These characteristics, however, do not explicitly define who is a leader and who is not. It is up to the individual to implement the skills they possess and improve on their weaknesses. Every leader is different just as every individual is unique in his or her own way. After all, we are all just people. There is no fixed strategy as to how to become a leader, or we’d all be applying it to our daily lives. There are theories we can explore, philosophies we can study, and models we can learn. In the end, it’s up to you. It’s who you want to be and how you brew your concoction of knowledge and life lessons into a product others can admire and follow.
